The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Dakota is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the USD Scottish Rite Speech Language Clinic in Sioux Falls.

This is a unique opportunity to provide clinical services while teaching and mentoring future speech language pathologists. If you are passionate about clinical education, collaboration, and making a difference in the lives of clients and families, we would love to hear from you.

Three SLP students (Grace Stansbury, Taylor Schallenkamp, & Megan Linke), former AUD student (Dr. Jennie Bellis Sabers), former faculty (Dr. Marni Johnson and Dr. Paul Brueggeman) and Dr. Liz Hanson convened in Spearfish at Black Hills State for Healthy Hearing Screenings at the SD Special Olympics Summer Games this week. They screened 85 athletes and “test drove”a new visual schedule. Members of Communication Sciences & Disorders have been volunteering at this event for about 20 years now!

Big congratulations to our 3rd year AuD students on presenting the findings from their directed research projects. It was great to see all of the hard work they’ve put in come together in their presentations.

Today, SLP faculty Liz DeVelder, Shelly Grinde, and Heather McFarland joined faculty and staff from the Parry Center for Clinical Skills & Simulation for an engaging TeamSTEPPS training. Master Trainers and IHEC/IPE champions Kari Potter, Kerri Mueller, and Mandy Williams led the training. It was a great day of interactive learning focused on teamwork, communication, and patient safety, including Lego Tower competitions and a fun TeamSTEPPS Jeopardy game with prizes!
