Villanova University’s College of Professional Studies represented at the New River College & Trades Education Summit at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune!

We connected with newly enlisted active duty service members, military dependents, veterans, and civilians while sharing Villanova CPS degree and certificate opportunities. There was strong interest in our Pre-College Summer Academy (PCSA) and VUnited Scholars Program.

One of the highlights was engaging in meaningful conversations with Marines preparing to transition from military service into higher education and new career pathways. A special thank you to the two Marine volunteers who joined us in drawing the winner of our military raffle basket. Congratulations to raffle basket winner Cpl. Calle, who hopes to study psychology or sociology!

We are grateful for opportunities like this to continue supporting military-connected learners as they pursue education, leadership development, and life beyond service.

Villanova University College of Professional Studies had the opportunity to attend the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia event, A Conversation with Governor Josh Shapiro, facilitated by Matt O'Donnell.

It was an incredible evening of conversation centered on the future of Pennsylvania, workforce development, economic growth, education and strengthening partnerships across our region. Events like these remind us of the importance of bringing together higher education, government, industry and community leaders to create meaningful opportunities for learners and working professionals.

At Villanova CPS, we remain committed to building partnerships that support adult learners, veterans, military-affiliated students and workforce development initiatives that strengthen both our communities and our Commonwealth.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with leaders throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and continue conversations on how education can serve as a catalyst for impact and opportunity.

🎓 Pursuing a college degree was the perfect step outside of the comfort zone for Jessica Smith. Instead of giving in to intimidation, she learned to believe in her ability to overcome challenges and offer solutions when things become difficult.

Villanova University’s College of Professional Studies was honored to conclude our final spring semester visit at the Community College of Philadelphia Veteran Resource Center with Director Christina Kinlaw.

Over the course of six monthly visits, Villanova CPS had the privilege of connecting with CCP student veterans through conversations centered on educational pathways, identity development, transition support and the many resources available to military-connected learners. We also enjoyed opportunities to bring together CCP and Villanova student veterans through campus visits and engagement with Villanova’s Office of Veterans & Military Service Members.

As we wished students good luck on finals, we reflected on the meaningful relationships and community built throughout the semester. We are grateful for the partnership with CCP’s Veteran Resource Center and look forward to continuing our visits again this fall.
