Registration for the 35th Annual Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Social Research Conference (MAUSRC) ENDS TONIGHT! To sign-up, simply complete a brief, online registration form by 11:59 PM tonight, TUESDAY, APRIL 7 (link is below). Registration takes less than 5 minutes!

The conference will feature an opening reception, welcome remarks by the President of Villanova University (Father Peter), a complimentary lunch, panel sessions, and poster presentations. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other students and faculty from across the Mid-Atlantic region!

The 2015 Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Social Research Conference will be held here at Villanova University on Friday, April 24.

Did you know that our department has a special program that provides funds to Sociology or Criminology majors conducting research centering on underdeveloped countries or major social problems in the U.S.? Students engaging in independent research under the supervision of a faculty member can submit a proposed budget for up to $2,000. TODAY! Theda Skocpol will give the Fritz Nova Memorial Lecture on "Obama's Presidency and the Future of American Politics," Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m., in Driscoll Hall, room 136. Dr. Skocpol is the recent dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, president of the American Political Science Association, president of the Social Science History Association and the winner of the Skytte Prize.

HAPPENING TODAY, SEPT. 17! "Zero Percent" Documentary Screening
Have you ever wondered what the inmates are doing to improve their lives within the high walls and after they leave? Join us on Sept. 17 from 7-9 p.m. in Driscoll 132 for a rare glimpse into this prison world with "Zero Percent" an award-winning documentary about Hudson Link for Higher Education's program at Sing Sing Prison in New York. The 66-minute film has earned nine awards at film festivals across the country. The film takes the audience inside college classes taught by adjunct professors that are identical to those taught at the teachers' home colleges.
