“In the wise words of Taylor Gibson, my why Tri Delta is constantly changing. When I first ran home as a new member, I wanted to be a part of a community that helped a cause bigger than ourselves. Our chapters utter devotion and love for St. Jude, our fundraising and time and energy poured into letters, testimonies, and the stories of St. Jude patients fulfills that original desire I had. Now, my why Tri Delta has expanded. My why Tri Delta is in my family, Julianne, Olivia, and Avery, who emulate self sacrifice and friendship with every breath they take. My why Tri Delta is in my very best friends—Brooke, Sarah, Gia, Kshetra, Caroline, Teagan, and Sydney. My why Tri Delta is the blessing of those women, who constantly encourage me to become a better friend, student, sister, and woman. It’s incredible that an organization that is so constant is always bringing me new reasons why I love it. You can find wonderful philanthropic organizations and friends where ever you go, whether it is in a sorority or not. However, Tri Delta reminds me every day what an honor it is I get to wear the same letters of the women I look up the most to. Her joyous energy is truly infectious–it is impossible to not be having fun when you are around her. I never have to pretend with her because she accepts me for exactly who I am, through the good and the bad. I aspire to be more like her every single day. I am so lucky to call her one of my best friends but even luckier to call her my Tri Delt twin. I will never forget the pure joy I felt when I saw both of our names on our Big-Little box. “Choosing Tri Delta was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Moving hundreds of miles away from home to a college where I didn’t know anyone else was scary—but ever since I first moved to Baylor’s campus, it was the ladies of Tri Delta who made me feel loved, welcomed and pursued. The girls I got to meet during my first semester sought a genuine friendship with me and they were the people I could truly be myself around. I didn’t have to put on a front to be the “perfect” potential new member, because they cared about every single part of me—even when I was having struggles transitioning into college. When I set foot in the Tri Delta room, I knew that it was my home. Not only did these girls care about me so deeply before bid day, but even after bid day they continued to show me the same amount of love. Tri Delta girls are so intentional about everything they do: whether it’s academics, fundraising or even pursuing a friendship with me. I am so thankful for the sisters who sought after me—the sisters who showed me what DELTA LOVE IS!!!!!! They are the ones who made my decision to be a Tri Delta so so easy!”
