Challenger Learning Center at TSTC in Waco

Visiting students will take part in two-hour simulated space missions featuring a space station and Mission Control Center.

Challenger Learning Center mission simulations engage students in hands-on exploration and discovery opportunities that strengthen knowledge in STEM and inspire students to pursue careers in these fields. The Challenger Learning Center is part of Challenger Center, an international, nonprofit education organization founded by the families of the astronauts lost during the Challenger space shuttle

mission. The program is hands-on, problem-based learning environment that strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, cooperation, communication, and creative thinking. Students in Mission Control and the space station will work in conjunction to navigate star fields, build a probe, examine space rocks and conduct experiments to accomplish the mission, "Rendezvous with a Comet".

The Challenger Learning Center at Texas State Technical College’s Waco campus will host this summer Stem 2 Space: A TSTC Challenger Experience. Enjoy hands-on activities, a simulated space mission, and tours of TSTC’s technical programs. The participant fee is $30 per student.

We had a fantastic time hosting Centex Christian Homeschool at the Challenger Learning Center! 🚀✨

Your group did an amazing job during the Atomnaut Academy and brought great energy to the planetarium. 🌌

From designing creative mission patches, driving Sphero bots, observing rocks, and learning about the ISS, it was a day full of hands-on exploration and discovery! 🔬🪐
