As the school year comes to an end, our Scholars enjoyed one last outing together at Fuji! They celebrated all of their hard work and accomplishments tonight. Looking towards the future, our Scholars wrote each other letters filled with unforgettable memories, tips, and words of encouragement as they continue their educational journey. 💙🧡

Our Scholar of the Week is Cade Pledger. Graduating from Robinson High School in 2017, he is currently a freshman in the Honors College and Presidential Scholars Program. He plans to transfer to Texas A&M to major in civil engineering with hopes of one day becoming an engineer or architect. Go Cade! ❤️

It was an exciting weekend for our Scholars as they presented their research at the Great Plains Honors Conference hosted by UT Tyler! They spent their time listening to other research presentations, attending nightly banquets, going on excursions throughout Tyler, and were even the winners of trivia night!

Congratulations to our very own Katie Nguyen for being named a 2019 Boe Award winner! Her paper discussed q***r theory in “The Picture of Dorian Gray” written by Oscar Wilde.

Our Scholar of the Week is Victoria Lopez. Graduating from Robinson High School in 2018, she is currently a freshman in the Honors College and Presidential Scholars program. She plans to transfer to Tarleton State University to major in psychology with hopes of one day becoming a researcher in this field. Go Victoria! ❤️

Our Scholar of the Week is Noah Wingate. Graduating from Robinson High School in 2018, Noah is currently a freshman in the Honors College and Presidential Scholars program. He plans to transfer to Baylor University to major in biology with hopes of one day becoming a doctor. Go Noah! ❤️

Our Scholar of the Week is Esomchi Ike. Graduating from Babcock University High School in Nigeria, she is an international student at MCC. Currently a sophomore in the Honors College, Esomchi is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Future Physicians of America. After graduating in May, she plans to transfer to Baylor University next fall and major in biochemistry and then attend medical school. Her dream is to become a cardiologist. Go Esomchi! ❤️

Our Scholar of the week is Serena Marquez. Graduating from Reicher Catholic High School in 2017, she is now a sophomore in the Honors College. Serena is currently the Vice Chair of Student Council. She is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the MCC Sunrise Rotaract Club. After graduation in May, she plans to transfer to Baylor University next fall and major in accounting with hopes of one day earning her CPA license. Go Serena! ❤️

Our students had the opportunity to listen to the honorable Lyndon Olson, former U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, at their monthly Presidential Scholar dinner. He spoke to them about his life, politics, and emphasized the importance of character and education.

Our Honors students in the Presidential Scholars program had a surprise visit from Santa this morning! 🎅🏻 He came bearing gifts to them at their end of semester breakfast.
We couldn’t be prouder of our students for putting in so much time and effort into this semester.
