✨ Alumni Spotlight: Trevor White ✨

"My favorite memories of being part of the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work were the camaraderie and support within my cohort. Over two years, we learned more about each other, leaned on one another, shared resources, and encouraged each other every step of the way. That's what I'll miss most."

As Trevor begins his next chapter, he plans to take the LMSW exam and move to the DFW area to pursue a career in counseling within sports or education. 🐻💚

Favorite place on campus? McLane Stadium! 🏈

We're excited to see all Trevor will accomplish as he continues his journey.

Join us in celebrating Jessie Carver, our 2026 MSW Outstanding Student! 🐻💚

Throughout her time at Baylor Social Work, Jessie has demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and a deep commitment to serving children, families, and communities through trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.

One reflection from Jessie that stood out to us:

“I am proud that I have learned to rest, to value myself outside of what I do, and how, with the help of my friends and community, I have been able to break some generational cycles in my family.”

This semester, our students got to experience social work beyond the walls of an office through their eco social work internship at Da’Shack in Waco 🌱💚⁠
⁠
From gardening and composting to wellness conversations and community engagement, students worked alongside local schools, churches, and community spaces to explore how food, sustainability, mental health, and relationships all connect.⁠
⁠
Through this hands-on practicum, they learned that social work can happen anywhere people are cultivating hope, healing, and community. We are so proud of the meaningful work these students accomplished this semester and the impact they continue to make from the ground up. 🌎🐻⁠
