We are so fortunate to have Kathy as an adjunct instructor at NDSCS, and treasure our partnership with Chahinkapa Zoo.

In our pursuit to create lifelong learners, we fully agree with the "always learning" mentality that Kathy brings. ❤️

I teach at North Dakota State College of Science on Tuesday evenings. I have been an adjunct instructor for many years, stepping in when extra class sessions are needed. It is great to maintain the relationship between the college and the zoo.

Parents — How to Check In Without Hovering

Instead of asking, "How are your grades?" try asking:

• What's been the best part of college so far?
• What class do you enjoy most?
• What's your favorite meal?
• What has surprised you?
• Have you met anyone interesting?

Open-ended conversations often lead to more meaningful connections.

Welcome Jeremiah! We’re thrilled you chose NDSCS!

Welcome Jeremiah!

We’re thrilled you chose NDSCS!

At 7 years old, Jeremiah Johnson started cooking alongside his mother. Now, he’s turning that longtime passion into a career.

The 2026 Drayton High School graduate is beginning the Culinary Arts Program at North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS), with plans to become a fine-dining chef and eventually open his own restaurant.

Jeremiah has worked hard to build his skills, from attending culinary camps and competitions to working and fundraising to pay for opportunities.

North Dakota Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) has helped him take the next steps toward his goal. Through VR, Jeremiah worked on postsecondary planning, work readiness and self-advocacy and received support to attend a culinary camp at NDSCS.

Jeremiah compares pursuing a dream to building a Lego set: It takes putting the pieces together one step at a time.

“It just takes time and effort,” he said.

Read Jeremiah’s story and learn how VR helped him build a path toward the future he already knew he wanted.

NDSCS Collision Engineering graduate, Isabella Roll, was recently highlighted in an article from Collision Repair Education Foundation!

“My education in the Auto Body Repair and Refinishing program was top grade,” she says. “My school and professors devoted a lot of time and effort to providing top-quality equipment, activities and exercises for my classmates and me. It really makes a difference when your program and teachers want you to succeed, and I have grown immensely since I started school in 2024.”
