Whitman Alpha Phi

Directions

Whitman Alpha Phi Beta Phi chapter of Alpha Phi at Whitman College. Alpha Phi was founded in 1872 at Syracuse University by 10 of the university's first women students.

Our founders aspired to promote growth in character, unity of feeling, sisterly affection, and social communication among members. Our national philanthropy is the Alpha Phi Foundation, which has a mission to empower women to be generous givers by raising and awarding funds for programs that advance leadership development, encourage academic excellence, improve women's heart health, support sisters in need, preserve heritage, and educate about the value of philanthropy.

It’s time for New Member Monday! This week we’d love to introduce you to our new sister, Astir!

“Hi my name is Astir! I am a freshman from Whitefish, Montana and I’m thinking of an Environmental Humanities and IRES double major with either a Law, Ethics and Humanities or Biology minor with the hopes of being a researcher for National Geographic. I am on the Debate and Forensics team at Whitman but I also love to read, write, tap dance, hike, and birdwatch. I’m so excited to be an Alpha Phi!”
