🎓✨ Recent Graduate Spotlight: Luke Bullins ✨🎓

As he reflects on his time at Williams Baptist University, Luke Bullins shares the one Bible verse that has guided his journey: Romans 8:39.

Why this is Luke's favorite Bible verse: “This scripture shows how deeply rooted we are in our Father’s love. No matter how far we may seem to drift, His love is always there to guide us back. It reminds me that God’s love never changes, never fails, and never leaves us. Because of His love, I can face every challenge with confidence, knowing that victory, purpose, and success are found in Him.”

During his time at WBU, Luke shared that one of the most valuable skills he gained was versatility. Through his experiences as a student, athlete, and leader, he learned how to adapt to different situations, work with a variety of people, and step into whatever role was needed to help the team succeed. Those lessons continue to prepare him to lead effectively both on and off the field.

Congratulations, Luke! We are proud of all you have accomplished and excited to see how God continues to use your talents and leadership in the years ahead. 💙💛

The July 1 deadline is approaching for the Arkansas Teacher Academy (ATA) Scholarship, which provides up to $6,000 per semester for eligible students pursuing a career in education.

Whether you're:
📚 An undergraduate education major, or
🎓 A student pursuing WBU's Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program,
you may qualify for this incredible scholarship opportunity.

The Arkansas Teacher Academy Scholarship supports current and aspiring educators who are committed to teaching in Arkansas schools and can be used toward tuition and mandatory fees.

Caleb Garner has quickly become a key part of the Williams Baptist University community, with his first year on our faculty already displaying the kind of Christ-centered leadership and quiet excellence that shapes campus culture.

Caleb serves as Chair of the Department of Health and Physical Education and Assistant Professor of Sports Management, helping lead one of our fastest-growing academic programs with a clear focus on Christ-centered leadership in the sports industry. His journey from small-town Mississippi to SEC athletics, sports media, and now the Williams classroom is a powerful testimony of how God weaves together calling, giftedness, and opportunity into meaningful lifework.

Faculty and staff who serve with him put it this way:
- “It’s been a pleasure working with Caleb during his first year with us. He is highly knowledgeable in a variety of areas within the department, communicates effectively, and is always willing to lend a helping hand. 🌟 Student Worker Spotlight: Williams Lawn Care & Landscaping

Meet Gaige Zaffarano, an Education major spending his summer on the Williams Lawn Care & Landscaping Crew.

For Gaige, maintaining campus grounds is about much more than mowing grass and landscaping. It's about learning valuable life lessons, friendships, and serving with purpose.

"Working on the lawn care crew has been one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of my life. I've met so many friends who have helped shape me into who I am today. They've taught me that hard work means something, especially when you do it with a Christ-centered purpose."

Through his work on campus, Gaige has developed skills that he believes will serve him well as a future educator and coach. One lesson stands above the rest: resilience.

"There are going to be long days that seem hard, but I remind myself that I'm doing this for a bigger purpose than myself. I want to serve, educate, and let students know they can do anything they put their minds to. Sometimes the most important thing a person can know is that someone believes in them."

Gaige says his time at Williams has taught him to keep going when challenges arise, trust that God is always with us, and take pride in every task, whether it's caring for campus grounds or teaching the next generation.

⚾ Fun Fact: When he's not studying, working on campus, or representing WBU on the pitching mound, Gaige volunteers his time coaching youth baseball with BPA in Jonesboro!

💙🦅 We are incredibly proud of Gaige and the example he sets both on and off campus. Whether he's serving on the lawn care crew, competing on the baseball field, or investing in the next generation through coaching, he continues to live out what it means to lead with faith, purpose, and a servant's heart.

🎓 Graduate School Spotlight: Physical Therapy

A year after graduating from WBU with a degree in Natural Sciences, Abigail Thomas is already completing her first year in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Central Arkansas.

While at Williams, Abigail worked at Williams Corner, built meaningful relationships with faculty, customers, and classmates, and developed the foundation that prepared her for success in graduate school.

For students interested in physical therapy, Abigail says WBU provided the preparation she needed through coursework in the sciences and opportunities to develop the interpersonal skills essential to the profession.

"Williams offers a Natural Science degree that can help students complete the requirements needed for PT school and beyond. The key is taking the prerequisite courses, gaining experience through shadowing, and developing strong interpersonal skills."

Now one year into PT school, Abigail is excited to continue exploring the field of physical therapy, growing alongside her classmates, and seeing all God has in store for her future.

Her journey is a reminder that a WBU education can serve as a launching pad for advanced degrees, professional programs, and meaningful careers.

🦅 Alumni Spotlight: Brittany (Foley) George '06

What do gifted education, youth ministry, coaching, and a pair of Aussiedoodles named Goose and Maverick have in common? Brittany George.

For nearly 20 years, Brittany has been making an impact as an educator in Corning, Arkansas, where she and her husband, Kyle ('06), have built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

As the Gifted and Talented Coordinator for the Corning School District, Brittany helps gifted, advanced, and high-achieving students reach their full potential while overseeing Advanced Placement courses and enrichment opportunities for younger learners.

When she's not in the classroom, you'll likely find her investing in the next generation through Breakthrough Teens at First Baptist Church of Corning, leading a student discipleship group called The Huddle, coaching youth sports, or cheering on her own children, Jagger and Blaze.

Brittany says one of the greatest gifts she took from Williams was a sense of belonging.

💙 "Growing up at Williams, it always felt like home. Then, I became a student and that sense of belonging and family only deepened. That is something that still connects me to WBU today, it's home."

Her faith continues to guide every area of her life.

✝️ "My faith is the guiding light in my life. My time at Williams allowed me a chance to explore and deepen my faith and seek Him in ways I never had before."

This year, Brittany and Kyle celebrate 20 years of marriage after graduating together in 2006 and getting married just three weeks later. Today, they continue serving together in their church, school, and community, making a difference wherever they're planted.

Stories like Brittany's remind us that WBU alumni are living out their faith and calling long after graduation, and impacting countless lives along the way.
