🦅 A Williams Tradition | Eagle Walk 2026

As we continue into the fall semester, we’re reflecting on a Williams tradition that helps set the tone for the year, the Eagle Walk Ceremony.

During this special ceremony, students received their Eagle’s Wings pins and legacy cords and were reminded that becoming part of the Williams community means becoming part of a story that began more than 85 years ago, a story built on faith, perseverance, service, and a commitment to Jesus Christ.

President Stan Norman challenged students to live out The Williams Way through Christ-Centered Purpose, Unwavering Tenacity, Courageous Faith, Selfless Sacrifice, and Work as Mission.

From the vision of our founder, Dr. H. E. Williams, for a “Campus of Christian Purpose,” to generations of men and women who refused to abandon a God-given mission through hardship and uncertainty, the history of Williams is filled with examples of faithful service and perseverance.

Students were reminded that their purpose begins now. This campus is their harvest field. Their residence halls, classrooms, teams, Williams Works stations, student organizations, and even conversations between classes are opportunities to love, encourage, serve, and point others toward Christ.

The prayer for our Eagles is that they will find their identity and purpose in Jesus Christ, stay the course when challenges come, have the courage to step forward when others will not, put the good of others before themselves, and see their work as an opportunity for mission.

“Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus.” — Hebrews 12:1–2

🦅 Go in the Williams Way.
Because the Williams Way ultimately is not about Williams. It is about Jesus Christ.

WE ARE ALL EAGLES.
85 Years. One Nest.

From Southern Baptist College to Williams Baptist College to Williams Baptist University—for 85 years, generations of Eagles have called this place home.

Come home to Williams on November 7, 2026, as we celebrate 85 years of memories, friendships, traditions, and the people who make Williams special.

This year’s Homecoming will also feature:

At WBU, we believe college is about becoming rooted in Christ.

Today, Head Wrestling Coach Tracy Hubbard shared from John 15 about abiding in Jesus. His message reminded us that real growth, purpose and lasting fruit do not come from striving harder on our own. They come from remaining connected to Christ, our source.

Join us in praying that Williams Baptist University would be a campus deeply rooted in Jesus, where faith shapes our classrooms, teams, residence halls and everyday conversations.

Thank you to Coach Hubbard for sharing this message and to the WBU Chapel Worship Team for leading us in worship today.

Today’s Prayer Chapel was a reminder of why we pray as a university. We believe God hears us, cares for us, and calls us to depend on Him.

Our hope is to be a campus of bowed heads, a community that seeks the Lord together, abides in Christ, and places every part of campus life before Him.

We prayed for:
- New students as they adjust, build friendships, discover belonging, and grow in their faith.
- Faculty, staff, coaches, and administrators as they serve students with wisdom, endurance, health, and grace.
- Returning students and academic life, asking God to strengthen them in their studies and daily routines.
- Residential life, student life, and campus community that every Eagle would be known, valued, welcomed, and loved.
- Our athletes and coaches, that their purpose would extend beyond the scoreboard and point others to Christ.
- Williams Works students, supervisors, and community partners, that work would be seen as mission and preparation for a Christ-centered future.
- International, commuting, and married students for friendship, connection, safety, strong families, and a true sense of belonging.
- Every student who is searching, asking questions, or has not yet placed their faith in Jesus, that they would encounter His love and saving grace.

May God continue to make WBU a praying community, one that walks in the light of His presence and reflects the hope of Christ in every classroom, residence hall, team, workplace, and relationship.

The Luau.

Held on the first Friday after move-in weekend, the Luau gives students a chance to take a breath after a full week of orientation events, the start of classes, and plenty of new friendships in the making.

From incredible food and island vibes to a limbo competition that gets very competitive, it’s one of those nights that helps make WBU feel like home.

Enjoy a few moments from this year’s Luau! 🌴🍍
