This week, WBU Athletic Director Mitch Mathis joined collegiate athletics leaders from across North America at the 2026 NACDA & Affiliates Convention in Las Vegas, bringing back ideas, insights, and strategies that will help strengthen the future of WBU Athletics.

"It is truly a great experience to attend the NACDA conference," said Mathis. "While we look around and see schools represented from completely different parts of the country and of vastly different sizes, the truth is that we are all fighting the exact same fights. Whether you are leading a large NCAA program or a close-knit small college department, we are all collectively navigating the daily challenges of student enrollment, managing tight budgets, and balancing the realities of the ever-changing transfer portal."
