When: Wednesday, Nov 13 from 6p-10p
Where: Mt. San Antonio College, Room M119 (on the corner across from the T2 Building)
What to Prepare:
A short monologue (1-2 minutes) of your choice.
Be prepared to read sides from the script.

Production Details
About the Play: "Silent Sky" tells the true story of Henrietta Leavitt, a pioneering astronomer who discovered the relationship between stars and their brightness, challenging the gender norms of her time. The play takes place between 1900 to 1920. The female characters are all historical figures who worked at The Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s.
Location: Mt. Sac Black Box Theater
Rehearsals start Jan 6 and are M-Th 6p-10p
Tech: Friday Feb 7th
Dress Rehearsals: Feb 8, 9, and 10
Performances: February 11, 12 & 13th
You must be available for Tech, Dress, and all Performances to be considered.

HENRIETTA LEAVITT - Female character. Brilliant, meticulous, excited – almost always wearing a period hearing-aid. Lead. Must be able to memorize a large amount of lines. Role requires an on stage kiss with Peter. (Sides 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
MARGARET LEAVITT - Female character. Henrietta’s sister, homebody, creative, sweet. Ability to play piano and/or sing is a plus but not required. (Side 1)
PETER SHAW - Male character. The head astronomer’s apprentice. Intelligent, efficient, comes across as brisk and a little awkward at first, but warms as he gets to know Henrietta. Role requires an onstage kiss with Henrietta. (Sides 2, 4)
ANNIE CANNON - Female character. The leader, terse and sure, grows into a firebrand. She is in a long term relationship with Williamina Fleming. Light intimacy with Williamina. (Side 3)
WILLIAMINA FLEMING - Female character. smart as a whip, fun and funny. Scottish. She is in a long term relationship with Annie Cannon and loves to get under her skin. Light intimacy with Annie. Role requires a Scottish accent. (Side 3)
