On behalf of the PARC Confidential Peer Educators and PARC professional staff, we are honored to invite you to PARC’s annual Take Back the Night on Thursday April 16th from 7-8:30pm in Levin Ballroom, followed by a march to the Lights of Reason.
Take Back the Night is a longstanding, internationally recognized movement that began in the 1960s, grounded in community gathering, survivor truth-telling, and collective action against domestic, dating, and sexual violence. At its core, this event is about centering survivor voices, bearing witness, and recommitting ourselves, both individually and institutionally, to creating safer communities.
This year, we are intentionally inviting the entire Brandeis community of students, faculty, and staff to join us. Sexual violence impacts all of us, directly and indirectly, and we believe there is profound power in coming together in community to stand alongside survivors.
We will begin the evening by hearing student survivor voices in Levin Ballroom, holding space for their courage, resilience, and truth. We will engage in grounding, self-care activities, and enjoy a student musical performance. From there, we will close the night with a march throughout campus for all who wish to participate, which will end at the Light of Reason– a visible and collective affirmation of solidarity, remembrance, and hope.
Your presence matters. Whether you are a listener, a supporter, a campus partner, or an advocate, we warmly encourage you to attend and to invite all coordinators and volunteers from your programs to join as well. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to PARC staff with any questions!
