There has been a great push from the different graduate student groups to work on diversity, equity, and inclusion on our campus and in our communities. The Heller Racial Equity Working Group has been working to create its virtual pilot program, the Racial Equity Action Challenge at Heller (REACH), to be held June 5th-6th.

The REACH program is an intensive weekend challenge that will create an intentional space that allows for the focused dedication of participants to address racial equity issues through innovation and action. Directed by prompts, participants will work to create workable solutions and programs that confront the racial disparities they have witnessed in our Heller/Brandeis/Waltham communities. A key component of REACH is to move beyond conversations to action. Action will be supported through this challenge by giving participants the chance to form teams and create solutions to problems they see. On Sunday, the winning ideas will be awarded prize money which will be used to implement their plans further pushing their work into actionable projects.

We are sending a reminder that the next FRESH Express delivery will take place on Friday, April 23rd. If you are interested, please sign up before Thursday at 7pm. We expect to include fresh oranges and cucumbers with your orders this week!

We will be hosting our next FRESH Express on April 23rd. This delivery is available to students in the Lower Waltham area and will include several fresh veggies AND non-perishable items! These deliveries will be scheduled to occur on April 23rd and will be dropped off to the recipients' place of residence according to a non-contact, drop off policy.

We have resumed our regular hours for FRESH Grab N Go, which will continue to be open to Brandeis community members every Tuesday and Friday, Noon - 6pm in our new location, SCC 315, throughout the Spring semester. Students may register prior to and on the day of an order.

Better understand the role of machine learning methods – traditionally used for classification and prediction – for making causal inferences from health care data. This session is founded on an examination of the challenges in drawing causal inferences about treatment effectiveness and safety from various data sources, and a summary of evidence from literature comparing database studies to randomized clinical trials.
