Our evolving information environment provides exciting opportunities for student researchers who have access to a constantly expanding number of sources. At the same time, the research process has grown more complex as students face new challenges navigating sources coming in a multitude of formats and information of varying quality. At this workshop, we will discuss ways to integrate information literacy into coursework, as well as ideas for designing assignments which increase student information literacy in meaningful ways. [Would you sleep better at night, knowing that you have done your bit to help students keep costs down?] If so, Open Educational Resources (OER) strategies may be the solution to the problem. OER materials have been developed at many universities and colleges to address the cost of traditional textbooks and to decrease the impact of these costs.
