The University of Central Missouri's Department of Criminal Justice is one of the oldest and most respected criminal justice programs in the world. Since its creation in 1962, the criminal justice program has been among the leaders in preparing students for careers in law enforcement, corrections, juvenile justice, graduate school, entry into law school and more. Moreover, the CJ Department has on

e of the country's most respected criminal justice graduate programs. There are currently 15 full time faculty and approximately 850 students enrolled in criminal justice programs at UCM. Additionally, the department houses the National Police Institute, a Regional Police Academy and the Institute of Justice and International Studies.

What a night to remember! On April 11th, nearly 70 attendees joined us for Red Carpet 2026, hosted by the Criminal Justice and Criminology Advisory Board.

The evening brought together students, faculty, and supporters for a memorable gala filled with celebration, connection, and community.
