UCM Mock Trial is a long standing, successful, competitive academic team at UCM. Students are coached by a working trial attorney, and given access to other useful learning resources. UCM Mock Trial is first and foremost a learning exercise. The competitions, while key to the team's existence, are a place to hone trial skills and learn from other school's programs. UCM Mock Trial seeks to teach tr
ial preparation, presentation, legal understanding, and professionalism to help students transition from undergraduate work into a professional law school setting. Students engaging with our team are given a strong foundation in both trial skills and evidence law, along with professional standards of civility that will help them move onto a successful law school transition and prepare them to begin a professional career. Former team members have gone on to attend law school at U. (STL), UMKC, Mizzou, SLU, University of Colorado at Boulder, and more. Graduates include attorneys in almost every area of the law including governmental positions and private practice. Past team members have gone on to be well versed trial attorneys, with a great sense of how to effectively work in the court room. Thank you for your interest in the team, and we look forward to any new students joining our ranks!
