Recently, University Housing presented the Patrick Bradley University Housing Service Award. This award recognizes a campus partner outside of Housing who goes above and beyond to support our department and help create a strong sense of community for both residents and staff.

Renamed in 2020–2021, the award honors Patrick Bradley, whose 24+ years of service to UCM reflected outstanding commitment, leadership, and dedication to University Housing.

Our 2025–2026 Recipient is Joyce Lawson!

Joyce has made a lasting impact on our department through her support with hiring, paperwork, processes, and work rule guidance. Her help has reached all levels of our team.

She is known for her responsiveness, her positive and helpful approach, and her consistent willingness to jump in and support Housing whenever needed.

End-of-Year Closing Prep Starts Now!
Residence Halls and apartments close May 8 at 6 PM, excluding The Crossing, which stays open through May 31 unless you have a summer contract elsewhere.

Start taking home unnecessary items early if possible to make finals week and checkout way less stressful.

Graduating? You’ll get an extension through the weekend!

Looking for a new place to study or unwind on campus?
The West Campus Residence Lounge (WCRL) has recently been reopened for student use on the west side of campus! Located in the lower level of Houts-Hosey, this space offers a comfortable environment for both individual and group study, or simply a quiet place to relax away from your room.

WCRL Hours:
Sunday–Thursday | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

How to Access:
Students can enter through the main doors of Houts-Hosey during building access hours (Sunday–Thursday, Noon – 8:00 PM) and remain in the space during WCRL open hours.

We recently shared a survey to gather feedback and better understand student interest in this space. If you haven’t already, please take a few moments to complete it; your input helps us continue to improve and expand spaces like this for you.

Come check it out and make it your new go-to spot.

As you start packing up for the semester, don’t toss items others could use!

Donate items like clothing, household goods, and unopened food to local places like:
• Campus Cupboard (UCM Food Pantry)
• Big Brothers Big Sisters drop-off
• Survival House
• Rise Racks

Or get creative:
✔ Turn plastic bags into something new
✔ Repurpose old clothes as rags
✔ Donate blankets to local shelters
