The University of Central Missouri is saddened by the death of Bailey Throssell, a senior from Overland Park, Kansas, majoring in Sport Management. He died Friday at an off-campus residence in Warrensburg.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Bailey’s family, friends, classmates and all those affected by this loss.

The Warrensburg Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Questions regarding the investigation should be directed to WPD.

Counseling and support services are available to UCM students and employees who may need assistance. The UCM Counseling Center can be reached at 660-543-4060. The 24-hour Crisis and Counseling Support Line is available at 660-543-8008.

UCM Biology senior Michael Maasen is taking classroom knowledge into the field as the inaugural intern for a brand-new conservation partnership!

Created through a collaboration between the Missouri Dept. of Conservation (MDC), Missouri Prairie Foundation (MPF), and Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) alongside State Fair Community College (SFCC) and UCM, this internship gives students real-world, hands-on experience in wildlife and resource management.

From habitat maintenance to operating heavy equipment, Michael is building the real-world skills to step into his future career.
