UCM Sigma Sigma Sigma

UCM Sigma Sigma Sigma Sigma Sigma Sigma is an organization here at the University of Central Missouri that strives to live by its values faith, hope, wisdom, love, and power.

Nu Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma was established at the University of Central Missouri in 1915. It was the first sorority on campus and continues to be a leader among Greek organizations. Sigma women are considered leaders on campus and are involved in a variety of organizations on campus. A Sigma woman lives by the values of wisdom, power, faith, love and hope. Currently, there are over 100,000 me

mbers and 200 collegiate and alumnae chapters. Sigma Sigma Sigma strives to establish among its members a perpetual bond of friendship, to develop in them strong womanly character, and to impress upon them high standards of conduct. Sigma Sigma Sigma colors are purple and white. The symbol is the sailboat, denoting our desire to "move ever forward". The jewel is the pearl, which reminds us that just as no two pearls are exactly alike, neither are two sisters; however, they are all beautiful! Sigma women have provided almost $3,000,000 to their National philanthropy of "Sigma serves children" by supporting play therapy at The Children's Medical Center in Dallas and The North Carolina Children's Hospital at Chapel Hill . The Sigma motto is "Faithful Unto Death" which is symbolized with the skull and cross-bone.
