Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated- Xi Omega Chapter Chartered in 1923, Xi Omega is the first and largest graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in Washington, D.C.

Membership is by invitation only. For 100 years, Xi Omega has led with supreme service and sisterhood in Washington, D.C. Alpha Kappa Alpha founders Norma Boyd and Carrie Snowden were among the 20 visionaries who chartered the chapter in 1923. In addition to generating funds for scholarships administered by its Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Xi Omega supervises three undergraduate chapters — Alpha Chapter (Howard University), Beta Lambda Chapter (University of District of Columbia) and Lambda Zeta Chapter (American University) — and owns Xi Omega Center in northwest DC.

Picture this: a summer Sunday where the ci**rs are curated, the stilettos are steep, and every dollar spent goes toward a student’s future. That’s exactly what we’re creating at Stogies & Stilettos, a chic day party fundraiser benefiting the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund.

In June, we not only celebrate Juneteenth, we’re also celebrating our “Honey Dos,” our fathers, and every man who shows up for us as we serve our local DC community. This one is for all of us, together.

Home is Where The Heart Is!

In partnership with A Wider Circle DC, Xi Omega members helped reimagine not one but TWO homes for families in our community!

From thoughtful design touches to hands-on teamwork, our members transformed mostly empty apartments into spaces that now feel like welcoming homes!

Xi Omega members also gifted each home with baskets full of cleaning supplies and essential items, giving families a fresh start and the tools they need to help maintain their renewed spaces.

This weekend, Xi Omega celebrated motherhood in all forms with a joyful afternoon of food, fellowship and meaningful connections during our Pre-Mother’s Day Garden Party!

Attendees got a chance to win door prizes and take home some new outfits from our curated-pop up boutique.

Poise, Purpose and plenty of Paillettes! 🎀✨

The 16th Annual Pink Hat Tea was truly an unforgettable celebration of elegance, sisterhood and scholarship. Xi Omega Chapter and the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation extend heartfelt thanks to our phenomenal hosts, Emmy Award-winning journalist and community reporter Molette Green and Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster Wes Hall, for guiding us through an inspiring afternoon with style and grace. Thank you to our special guest, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s North Atlantic Regional Director, Elicia Pegues Spearman and shoutout to Xi Omega’s own living-legend, former NAR Director C. Edith Booker.

We are grateful for our lifestyle expert and WHUT-TV host George Worrell for bringing flair and energy to the Pink Carpet experience, and to our celebrity VIPs Paris Courtney Titus, 2025 Ultimate International Pre-Teen, Inaugural Chair and author, Michelle Miller and media personality Sunni and The City for lighting up the platform.

We also celebrate our incredible Hat Fashion models, whose beauty, confidence and creativity made the runway shine, and American Hats, LLC for providing the fabulous hats!
