Hello fellow Student Veteran / Military Connected Student!

The American University Military Connected Club will be hosting its first general body meeting! After a long hiatus due to COVID we have an opportunity to restore this club on campus.

This club is designed to help us build community and connect with each other. Additionally, it gives us an opportunity to build a presence on campus, host events, welcome guest speakers, and many more

Please answer this short survey so that we may identify a time for our first meeting. Additionally, if you know of another student who may be interested, please forward this survey and information to them as well.

This first meeting is crucial to being approved as a club on campus. Without this meeting we will not be able to form a club and will be without university support for another year. At this meeting we will elect an executive board and sign the new constitution. You will also have an opportunity to connect with other students, face to face, and join our social media platforms.

This club has an opportunity to grow into an organization of motivated and dedicated students. Each year the university and its various offices host events and programs designed for student veterans and military connected students. Below is a short list of those events. Together, we can help expand these events and ensure future students have opportunities on campus.

Yellow Ribbon Basketball Game (hosted by the Veteran Alumni Network)
SVA National Convention (NATCON) (external event with possible AU funding)
Martin Luther King Day of Service (AU programing)
Spring orientation
SVA Washington Week (External event with possible AU funding)
Campus Beautification Day (AU programming)
Memorial Day
Spring Affinity Graduation
Welcome Week
Fall Orientation
Bi-Annual Round table with President Burwell (President’s office)
Veterans’ Day
Fall Affinity Graduation

We hope you will join us for this short organizational meeting where we can really make changes on campus!

The first half of the session (6:30-7:15) will go over how to use VA Education Benefits at AU.
