We've been doing some interesting things lately. We had a class visit with Senator Gillibrand, sat in the House gallery to observe one of the Speaker votes (the third effort by Jim Jordan), and then last week we met with Anderson Okoniewski from the House Republican Conference to learn more about the inner workings of a party's leadership structure.

Last week, we had many guests in town from across the SUNY System for SUNY's Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. The Chancellor was here, 16 campus Presidents, and quite a few other folks from most of the SUNY schools. We heard from Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, and Representatives Joe Morelle and Marc Molinaro. Our students had a great time!

Our class had the opportunity on Friday to get a tour of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center thanks to SUNY Brockport alum Mike Mcclare, who works there. We toured several buildings across the vast campus, and saw the Hubble Telescope operations control center, as well as a large area where engineers and scientists were working on building the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which is scheduled to launch in 2027! This was a terrific visit.

As we start the summer 2023 internship program TODAY (!), here's a look back at some of the places we visited in the spring as part of our seminar class. Visits to the State Department, the National Archives, the Supreme Court, the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum, Lockheed Martin, the Brookings Institution, and the Cato Institute were just some of the many things we did together! We have some exciting new plans as well for the summer.
