Located in Charles R. Drew Hall (Drew Hall) and the C. Alan Hair Salon at Harriet Tubman Quadrangle (The Quad) Howard University presents The C. Alan.

The new campus locations bring convenient, affordable hair care, grooming, and nail services directly to residence halls. For Bennett, who earned his master's degree from Howard in 1996, the partnership represents a full circle moment dedicated to serving the next generation of Bison.

Howard University has appointed Johnnie Watson III as its new treasurer. Bringing over two decades of financial leadership from Johns Hopkins University, the City of Atlanta, and corporate finance, Watson will oversee treasury operations and fortify the university's financial infrastructure to support its Carnegie R1 research status.

A new dawn. A lasting legacy.
The Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts and the Fine Arts Student Council commemorated the fifth annual Chadwick A. Boseman Day with three days of movement, reflection, creativity and celebration.

Centered on this year’s theme, “A New Dawn of Purpose,” the observance honored the life and legacy of the beloved Howard alumnus while creating space for the next generation of artists to share their own voices and talents.

The celebration culminated in a student showcase hosted by Howard alumnus and Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor Anthony Anderson, bringing together the artistry, purpose and creative spirit that continue to define the College of Fine Arts.

Chadwick’s legacy lives on through the artists who walk these halls, take the stage and continue to create with purpose.

Howard’s reach has always extended far beyond The Yard.

His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene of the Ashanti Kingdom, brought that global connection into focus during a historic visit to Howard University,
delivering his first Royal Guest Lecture on campus to an audience of students, faculty, staff and invited guests.

Speaking at Cramton Auditorium, the Asantehene reflected on the unity of African people across the globe, the preservation of cultural heritage and the enduring strength of the African diaspora.

His visit continues a legacy that stretches back to Howard’s earliest years: welcoming leaders, scholars and students from around the world while serving as a vital bridge between Africa, the diaspora and the global community.

Howard University faculty recently gathered for an intensive boot camp hosted by Talitha Washington, Ph.D., to explore how agentic artificial intelligence can transform higher education.

Supported by Amazon Web Services and the National Science Foundation, the event brought together educators across disciplines—from music and political science to mathematics and health sciences—to design hands-on curricula, course modules, and responsible-use frameworks. Unlike standard generative AI, agentic AI coordinates workflows and completes complex tasks under human supervision, equipping students with essential skills for an evolving workforce.

Surrounded by faculty, family, and friends, incoming medical students received their white coats, a tradition symbolizing clinical professionalism, integrity, compassion, and dedication to patient care. The milestone marked the official start of their academic journey as they affirmed their commitment to ethical practice, community service, and continuing Howard's legacy of leadership in healthcare.
