🎤 Georgetown Entrepreneurship Club's Open Pitch Night results are in!

🥇 Three winners took home $300 each:

Solevate: convertible high heels, pitched as a skit by Seta Sahagian (SFS '29) and Peyton Rydzewski (C'29)

Synch Your Scent: bridging deodorant and designer perfume, from Eva Wendel (SFS '28)

Purple Therapy: an AR/VR headset with an LLM-powered assistant supporting interventions for ASD and other developmental disorders, extemporaneously pitched by Angelina Khou.

🏅 Fourth prize ($100) went to Ayan Sanaullah (C'29) for Hardware-Based AI Free Social Media.

Huge credit to the club's student board: Grace Bauer, Ellie Anderson, Leah Fontaine, Caroline Runneboom, Gavin Liu, Asha Giancaspro, and Ryan Pat; and to The Corp for the partnership. 🚀

Come see entrepreneurship in action this Wednesday as the Georgetown PIVOT fellows take the stage pitching their ventures!

The PIVOT Program empowers individuals with past convictions to become entrepreneurs and business leaders. Through rigorous training and hands-on experience, fellows develop the skills to succeed in the workplace and launch their own ventures.

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Opelo Matome as the new Associate Director of the Leonsis Venture Lab at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business!

Opelo brings a rare combination of operational rigor, global perspective, and genuine passion for founder-centered impact. She most recently served as a Go-to-Market Operations and Strategy Consultant at Botho University in Botswana, where she launched and scaled a professional online learning program. Before that, she worked for Endeavor Global, one of the world's premier startup accelerator networks, where she managed 55 high-growth companies across more than 30 markets, helping secure over $150 million in funding for her portfolio.

In her new role, Opelo will lead Georgetown's Leonsis Venture Lab, a dedicated co-working community for alumni entrepreneurs, supporting founders with workspace, mentorship, and programming designed to meet them wherever they are on their entrepreneurial journey.

Hoyas are taking over pitch competitions nationwide, and we couldn't be prouder. 🐾🚀

This month alone, Georgetown founders swept stages from coast to coast:

🏆 The Petition Co won first place, taking home $40k at the TCU Ventures and Values Pitch Competition. Congratulations Krish and Michael!

🏆 Ketsu claimed victory at the Fordham Jesuit Pitch Competition, taking home the top prize of $2.5k. Congratulations Mona, Aaron, and Natalie!

And the momentum keeps building: freshman Elaine Chu, founder of LetsHelp and a recent Rocket Pitch winner, is headed to Santa Clara University to compete on the national stage.

From Texas to New York to California, Hoyapreneurs are proving that when you build with purpose, clarity, and grit, the wins follow. 💙
