It is with a tremendously heavy heart that the members of The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. announces the passing of our beloved 6th President, Soror Claudia L. McKoin, who transitioned on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Soror McKoin was a steadfast pillar of our chapter. Initiated into the Federal City Alumnae Chapter, she dedicated her life to service, leadership, and the advancement of our community.  Her legacy lives on through the renowned Claudia L. McKoin Public Service Leadership Training Academy, a free program designed to equip women to lead and shape public policy in their communities. The academy stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment to social action and public service.

We ask that you keep Soror McKoin’s family, as well as our chapter and sorority, lifted in your prayers as we grieve this profound loss. Let us honor her life by reflecting on the lasting impact she made and the many lives she touched.
