It’s been a very busy week for Cohort 10! Today, the four research groups presented their final posters to family, friends, and faculty. Each group highlighted months of hard work, collaboration, and dedication, covering a variety of meaningful and impactful topic areas. It was a great opportunity to share our research, celebrate our accomplishments, and reflect on how much we’ve learned throughout the process. We’re so proud of everyone and grateful for all the support!

Allen College’s Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) was proud to put on the first ever “Dancing with the North Stars” event today. This event brought together many friends from all over the Cedar Valley region to dance, snack, and spread lots of smiles!🕺🪩

The students at Allen College are so grateful for all of the wonderful friendships that have developed through this partnership💟 We hope to see many more “Dancing with the North Stars” events in the future years!

To celebrate, we’re highlighting some of our favorite moments from the 2025–2026 school year so far! From hands-on learning to meaningful connections, this year has been full of growth, laughter, and unforgettable experiences.

We’re so proud to be future OTs and grateful for a community that supports, challenges, and inspires us every day! 🩵

🌟 Interprofessional Learning in Action at Allen College! 🌟

Our Occupational Therapy students teamed up with the Allen College Sonography students for a dynamic, hands‑on collaboration that shows the power of learning with and from each other.

OT students had the opportunity to share their expertise on:

Safe and effective gait belt use
Bed mobility strategies
Transfer safety techniques

The Sonography students offered incredible insight into their profession including their deep knowledge of anatomy and the sophisticated equipment they use every day.

Together, both groups brainstormed ergonomic strategies to support long‑term health, reduce strain, and promote career longevity in the sonography field. This kind of interprofessional teamwork helps future clinicians understand not only their own roles, but how to support the well‑being of colleagues across disciplines. Together we encourage supporting each other in the field and self-advocating as future professionals. Collaborative learning like today’s session helps future professionals build safer habits early.

What a meaningful morning of shared knowledge, mutual respect, and forward‑thinking problem solving. We are proud of our students for leading the way in interprofessional excellence! 💙

MSOT Cohort 10 and OTD Cohort 1 traveled to the Iowa state capitol today for IOTA Hill Day! OT students got to have great conversations with legislators and advocate for the profession!
