We are honored to recognize Kevin Charlwood ’86, Ph.D. with the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award for Community Service. Guided by a lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and civic responsibility, Charlwood has dedicated his life to strengthening communities, supporting those in need, and making a lasting impact through volunteer leadership and humanitarian work.

From disaster relief work with the American Red Cross to decades of service in education and the Topeka community, he has made a measurable and lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals.

Yolanda is the director of the Military and Veterans Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she leads campus-wide efforts to support military-connected students, advance culturally responsive practices and promote veteran mental health and wellness.

At Carroll, we are proud to support our military-connected students through resources like the Veterans House, a dedicated space that fosters community, connection and support for veterans and their families on campus.
