Week 2 Recap: Our cadets dove into fire dynamics and reinforced safety with a deep focus on personal protective equipment (PPE). They also completed air consumption drills using their SCBA to build confidence and endurance under air. We wrapped each day with dedicated physical fitness to keep everyone strong and ready. Please join us Saturday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palo Pinto Volunteer Fire Department for a community fundraiser benefiting First Responder Herstle Renfroe.

Herstle has spent years serving others — including eight years with Sacred Cross EMS and a combined decade of volunteer fire service in Palo Pinto County. Now, following the unimaginable loss of his wife, Alexis, and two children, Alekzander and Cody, our community has an opportunity to show up for him.
