Rest in Peace, My Sweet Lavene
From the moment I met you, I knew I was in the presence of something rare — a woman whose light was simply undeniable.
You were a rockstar in every sense of the word. A devoted mother, a gifted hairstylist and barber, and one of the most genuine friends a person could ever be blessed to have. You showed up fully in every role you carried, and you carried them all with grace.
What moved me most was your strength. You faced throat cancer during barber school — a battle that would have broken so many — and you never let it dim your spirit. Then when ALS entered your story, you met it the same way you met everything else in life: with positivity, with love, and with that beautiful light still shining. You never stopped being you.
Lavene, you were an angel walking among us, and now heaven has you back where you belong — flying high, finally free, finally at rest.
My heart holds your family, your friends, and every single soul you touched close during this time. The impact you made on this world does not leave with you. It lives in the hands you trained, the hearts you loved, and the lives you changed simply by being in them.
I love you, girl. Always and forever.
