Webster University Forensics Team & Club

Webster University Forensics Team & Club The Webster University Forensics and Debate Team, part of the School of Communications, is one of the most competitive in the country.

Webster's forensic and debate program prides itself on the opportunities it provides to students from all backgrounds and experience levels, ranging from the four-year high school competitor and national qualifier to the public speaking student interested in further speaking opportunities. The program prioritizes a team ethic while working closely with students to help each team member achieve his

or her own educational and competitive goals. The result is a forensic tradition in which the Webster team and individual students earn recognition regionally and nationally.

March 18-22: Pi Kappa Delta
We recently competed at the Pi Kappa Delta national tournament and convention! PKD is the tournament we work for all year. This organization is integral to the foundation of Webster Forensics! Thank you to Missouri State for being amazing hosts this year!

We had an incredibly successful PKD this year, bringing home 10th place overall with only 13 competitors (out of 60 schools!) and even a national championship!

The hard work of all of our competitors earned us 5th place in sweepstakes in the open division. Shoutout to team member Maral Mahdinia for getting 1st place in oratory! She was the Oratory top novice, state champion, and a qualifier for the Interstate Oratory Contest! Congratulations to Maral and all of our Gorloks!

Webster Wednesday: Weekend Recap
🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹
January 23-25: The Gorlok Gala— Webster University
Each year we host one of the biggest tournaments in the nation. This year, due to the snow, we had to host the Gorlok virtually. While we were sad to make the change, it presented a rare opportunity for a couple of our students to be able to compete! Congratulations to and Maral Mahdinia on their outstanding performances at the Gorlok!
🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹
January 31: NEAT NYC Metro Classic— Mid-Winter Swing I
This past weekend we had the opportunity to compete in a virtual tournament. This gave our team the chance to compete against teams from parts of the nation we don’t usually see! Congratulations to all who competed this weekend and a special shoutout to and Maral Mahdinia!
