Gordon College Pike Honors Program

Gordon College Pike Honors Program The Kenneth L. Pike Honors Program gives exceptional students at Gordon College the opportunity to create their own interdisciplinary majors.

Pike Honors Program invites exceptional students with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher to design a unique academic program that creatively complements or extends Gordon College majors or minors in pursuit of their learning goal. Pike Scholars can take advantage of diverse opportunities at Gordon, internationally or at other institutions in this country to enrich existing majors in unique ways. S

cholars design a creative, rigorous program with a depth and breadth that would not ordinarily be available to them at Gordon.

Here's another new Gordon College Pike Honors Program student from the 2022-2023 academic year: Zach Barneson. Zach engaged in a process of academic backward design (with the end in mind), under the guidance of Gordon College faculty Dr. Greg Keller (Pike advisor) and Dr. Ming Zheng (Pike reader) to create a Pike major in Conservation Law Enforcement. Zach designed his Pike with the goal of eventually working for the Fish & Wildlife Service in New England.

Congratulations to Pike alumna Hilary Sherratt Yancey on her new book - perhaps you'll meet her at Homecoming!

On Homecoming Saturday, grab a hot drink at the Bistro and join us in the library for Coffee with Hilary. Come and hear from alumna Hilary (Sherratt) Yancey '12 as she shares about her book, Forgiving God--the story of her pregnancy with her firstborn, Jackson, and his diagnosis with craniofacial microsomia.

Hilary will tell her story of working to believe in miraculous healing, confronting God when the miracles don't look the way you expect, and learning to leave behind old expectations to make room for something wider, and wilder.

You can find Hilary's book in stores at Amazon Books, or online at http://a.co/d/394sUmq
