This is very exciting! Since the conference was scheduled for Seattle at the end of March, a new direction needed to take place. I'm so happy that the conference will now be online and FREE! Join when you can; I'm sure the topics will be valuable. I'll keep you posted on additional details.

The Compact20 Virtual Gathering will offer a compact, online-only conference over three days—providing free, accessible opportunities for learning, networking, and pursuing our ongoing commitments.

To fulfill a semester project requirement for Tom King's Organizational Theory class, Providence College students are working together and with students from other schools to fight COVID-19. Watch the video and share the video widely, especially to young people

From Tom King
PC, like most colleges, closed and we are moving our classes online. As so many of you are painfully aware (I hope the nightmares have ended) I offer these as challenges to my classes. Meeting for the first time virtually this past Thursday, I told my OrgTheory classes that it was going to be a huge challenge to reconfigure their semester projects from organizing fundraising events for local Providence charities which, clearly, was no longer possible with everyone spread all over New England.
In that one class, a section came up with an idea based on their frustration with peers who were taking our current health crisis lightly. It took them the weekend, working virtually with Zoom, Google Docs, and GroupMe, to create a new organization and a video message as only the first step in their project. They also used their networks to include young people from colleges across the country.
Please spread the video widely, especially to young people.

From our local United Way. "Viruses don’t discriminate and neither should we. Coronavirus doesn’t recognize race, nationality, ethnicity nor social status. We are stronger as a community when we stand together against discrimination. During this time, it’s important that we support one another, promote a healthy community, and stay up to date on the latest information from our health professionals."

As an organization dedicated to the well-being of our community, we are closely watching the developments surrounding the spread of Coronavirus in our region. United Way of Greater New Haven is working with our partners to minimize the impact of the outbreak and ensure community needs are met. For t...

The pandemic is widening social and economic divisions that also make the virus deadlier, a self-reinforcing cycle that experts warn could have consequences for years to come.
