We are a largely community service based fraternity with social ideals. The Brothers of Kappa Gamma Rho believe that Brothers come before anything else. The goals of Kappa Gamma Rho include promoting goodwill in the surrounding community, enhancing Greek and student life on campus, and promoting quality, diversity, and unity through Greek life. We work hard with the university to have students par

ticipate and have an active role in the university student government. One of our biggest events includes our annual Say What Karaoke, which is held each semester. We also take part Co-sponsoring many school events, and participate in outside community events such as the Lupus Walk, Diabetes Walk, MS Walk and various soup kitchens in the greater New Haven area.

This semester, the brothers of Kappa Gamma had the privilege of supporting a pillar of the Connecticut community through our first-ever Bucks for Betterment Philanthropy Week fundraiser benefiting Connecticut Foodshare.

We kicked the week off by volunteering at Connecticut Foodshare’s warehouse, where we helped sort through over 9,000 pounds of delivered goods to support families facing food insecurity across our state. Throughout the week, we also hosted events including our Bucks for Betterment Dunk Tank Fundraiser and our semi-annual Say What Talent Show. Every dollar raised went directly toward supporting Connecticut Foodshare’s mission to combat hunger in Connecticut.

Food insecurity impacts thousands of individuals and families in Connecticut every day, and we believe it is our responsibility to help make a meaningful difference.

Thanks to the generosity and support of the UNH community, the funds raised through Bucks for Betterment Philanthropy Week will help provide more than 1,300 meals to those in need.

A special thank you to Beth and Alecia from Connecticut Foodshare for joining us and speaking at Say What. We also want to thank everyone who supported our efforts, attended our events, donated, and helped us give back to the community.

Kappa Gamma Rho Philanthropy Week is here! Join us all week as we raise money and awareness for a great cause.

Here’s what we have planned:
-Tuesday (April 14): Tabling at Barts from 9AM–2PM
- Wednesday (April 15): Say What Talent Show at Bucknall Theatre from 5PM–7PM
- Thursday (April 16): Dunk Tank in front of the Rec Center from 11AM–5PM
- Friday (April 17): Raffle Tabling at Barts from 9AM–2PM

All go to Connecticut Foodshare, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger by providing meals, supporting food banks, and helping families across Connecticut access reliable nutrition.

From 1997 to 2026. One of our founding brothers returns back to where it all started, this time with his son by his side. You’re a student for 4 years, you work for 40, but you’re a brother for life. We’re grateful for the generations that built us and the ones still to come. For nearly 29 years as the oldest fraternity on campus, our brotherhood has proven that real strength comes from lasting bonds and lifelong connections.❤️💛💚

Brotherhood isn’t just about showing up for each other, it’s about it showing up for the community. Today, the brothers of Kappa Gamma Rho had the privilege to give back to the Connecticut community by volunteering at Connecticut Foodshare. We sorted and moved over 5,000 lbs of meat, enough to supply 4,500 meals! We applaud the meaningful work CT Foodshare does on a daily basis and look forward to volunteering again. Thank you for having us 💚❤️💛
