Last week’s Annual Symposium was one for the books!

From showcasing 80+ data-driven projects to connecting with 60 corporate partners, the event brought together students, industry leaders, and innovation all in one place. We’re proud of the collaboration, creativity, and impact that filled the room.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and made this event so memorable. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

Introducing our next Student Spotlight, Shlok Sheth 📊

A junior studying Data Science and Applied Statistics with a minor in Business Economics, Shlok is involved across campus through research, entrepreneurship, and industry projects. He conducts ML and computer vision research with Prof. Bowei Xi, co-authors papers on LLMs and adversarial ML, and co-founded both The Data Exchange Purdue and the BDAM program.

After discovering The Data Mine his first year, Shlok was drawn to the Corporate Partners program for its focus on real-world data. Working with HUMN Capital and Syngenta gave him hands-on experience applying data science to meaningful problems.

He’s gained skills in end-to-end data thinking, stakeholder communication, and turning messy data into insights, along with learning to ask the right questions before coding.

His favorite part? The collaborative, high-impact environment.

Favorite study spots? PMU, Rawls, and Lambertus.
