SHPE Purdue

The organization has 10,000 active members in more than 178 student-run chapters around the US. We’re here to bridge that gap.

SHPE is a professional student organization whose vision is to empower the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development. At Purdue, our chapter offers on-campus activities such as: company info sessions, networking events, Grand Prix racing team, athletic and social activities, charity work, and the annual Spri

ng Awards Banquet. Around $8,000 are given out in scholarships each year to our members and there are many opportunities every week to network with company representatives in your field of study. SHPE Purdue selects members each year to attend the SHPE National Conference for free. It is an opportunity to attend company workshops and network with recruiters from 200+ companies, looking for people like you. (2017 Conference: Kansas City, November 1-5)

Hispanics are underrepresented in STEM, often due to lack of support, access, and development. Building the right network can open many doors.
