Get vaccinated and stay healthy! Registration is now open for no-cost vaccine clinics, happening Sept. 16 and Oct. 20, at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center. Vaccines including flu, meningitis B, hepatitis A/B, MMR-II, Tdap/tetanus, COVID-19 and more will be available. The clinic is open to Purdue University students, staff, faculty and their family members (ages 11 and up) as well as to the community.

Kayce Solari Williams always wanted to be a resident assistant (RA) when she was an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University but graduating early prevented her from pursuing that dream. “It makes us so happy to see all of our friends from college at the tailgates each fall, and it is how we stay connected despite all living in different cities,” Amy Lueking says. “I’m so happy to have such an amazing group of friends who have become family.” Lueking is a 1994 alumna of the Purdue University Department of Health and Kinesiology.

Exciting growth is coming to healthcare in the Purdue University community!

Parkview Health recently broke ground on a new $200 million hospital in Purdue Research Park, bringing together Parkview leaders, Purdue representatives and community partners to celebrate the milestone.
The nearly 200,000-square-foot facility will include inpatient care, a 24/7 emergency department, surgical and procedural services, specialty care, lab and imaging services and a range of outpatient services. When it opens in 2028, the hospital is also expected to bring approximately 250 healthcare jobs to the community.

We’re excited to see continued investment in healthcare close to campus and the opportunities it can create for Purdue School of Nursing students and the future of nursing in our community.

The approximately $200 million project is being developed near the intersection of North Tippecanoe County Road 100 West and Kalberer Road on land acquired from the Purdue Research Foundation.

New nutrition AI tools developed by Purdue University researchers could improve how scientists measure diet by capturing eating behaviors in real time instead of relying solely on participants’ recollections.

Heather Eicher-Miller, professor of nutrition science, partnered with Fengqing Maggie Zhu, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, to use mobile and wearable technologies combined with advanced AI algorithms to conduct the SENSE (Sensor-based Estimation of Nutrition and Surrounding Environment) study. Participants take pictures of their meals before and after eating while the AIM-2 sensor automatically captures images during the meal.

The College of Health and Human Sciences is expanding its Indianapolis presence with new programming in hospitality and tourism management and health and kinesiology.

The hospitality and tourism management major focuses on fulfilling workforce needs in a major urban center that continues to draw large-scale conventions and events.

The Master of Science in athletic training program, which builds upon last year’s launch of the Master of Science in sport management, capitalizes on Indianapolis’ renown in the professional and amateur sports sectors.
