Every year Dr. Sarah LaRose helps run the national Conduct of Chapter Meetings LDE at National FFA Convention. She has been a member of the committee that plans, runs, and updates this LDE since 2015. Some of her responsibilities have included writing oral questions, co-presenting instructional webinars for event participants and their coaches, organizing the responsibilities of the Convention Collegiate Assistants (CCAs), and more. This year the event drew 42 teams from across the country, for a total of 294 FFA members! Today is the finals for CCM in the Indiana Convention Center, where Dr. LaRose is serving as the master of ceremonies. Assisting with Conduct of Chapter Meetings at National FFA Convention is one of Dr. LaRose's favorite events each year because it means she gets to interact with FFA members and Ag teachers from across the country, and see excellent parliamentary procedure in action!

Check out the advice Lucas Lyons (Ag Ed B.S. β€˜26) has for getting involved on campus. Our Ag Ed students are involved at the department, college, and university levels, in a variety of option clubs and organizations! In the words of Lucas, β€œBe a sponge, and get involved across campus.” πŸ§½πŸ§ πŸ“šπŸš‚

It's been a busy day at the 99th National FFA Organization Convention!

Professor Emeritus Dr. Allen Talbert and Ag Ed Senior Lecturer Amanda Line spent the day judging the πŸ¦‰ Agricultural Education Invitational!

It’s been a busy week at National FFA Convention! Each year our students step up to serve in different ways to help bring convention to life for FFA Members and Advisors. Yesterday, four of our students assisted with the national Conduct of Chapter Meetings LDE, the only competitive event open to middle school members at the national level. They helped move students from their holding room to competition rooms, enter scores for our judges, and help keep the holding room light and less stressful. They did a great job!!

Thank you to: Kaysie Anthrop, Kaitlyn Kalbaugh, Ethan Sheets, and Conner Keeslar!
