⚔️ Meet the 2026–27 OUR Scholars!

Student: Samuel Aaron Brodsky
Project: “Warhammer Paratext Information as Community: A Games Workshop Business Strategy”

Samuel, mentored by Libraries faculty member Neal Baker, will continue his research into Games Workshop’s Warhammer brand and its use of serial paratext. He will examine thousands of company-supplied metadata tags from the Warhammer Community website to explore how the franchise uses web content for refurbishment, wayfinding, instruction, and archival purposes.

🔎 Meet the 2026–27 OUR Scholars!

Students: Janith Randhil D Alwiss and Ekam Bhullar
Project name: “AI-Enhanced Metadata Curation for re3data”

Janith and Ekam, mentored by Libraries faculty member Michael Witt, will explore how artificial intelligence can be incorporated into editorial workflows for re3data to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of metadata curation. Their research will include a literature review, an environment scan, evaluation of AI tools and approaches, and prototype development.

We look forward to seeing where their research takes them this year!

Gang Shao, Spencer Stewart, Samantha LeGrand, and Zoeanna Mayhook are leading IMLS-funded projects representing more than $818,000 in support for research and implementation. Together, their projects are advancing AI from different perspectives, building momentum for how AI can shape the future of libraries, archives, and museums.

Their work explores how AI can transform metadata, preserve historical context, strengthen museum collections, and prepare librarians to lead AI literacy initiatives.

After decades of effort by faculty, staff, and increasing interest from students, Purdue’s School of Home Economics opened in 1926 and had a lasting impact on the university, Indiana communities, and everyday life.
Purdue University Archives and Special Collections invites you to explore “The History of Home Economics at Purdue: How It Shaped Our Campus and Our Lives.” The exhibition highlights the evolution and legacy of home economics at Purdue, including work in nutrition, child development, public health, education, dietetics, interior design, and research.
