Welcome back, all! Hope we had a fun and safe spring break. Here's our writing tip of the week:

A lot is ALWAYS two words.
That may not be a lot, but that’s all I have to say about it.

Writing Tip of the week: Your & You're...
Many students can get your and you're mixed up, but here's an easy way to figure out which version to use:
You're is a contraction made up of You and Are.
Your is the possession of something.
So, let's look at it this way:
YOU'RE a great writer. (You are a great writer)
This is YOUR paper. (The paper..belongs to you!)

On that note, enjoy YOUR spring break everyone! Be safe, have fun and we will see you March 19th!

Workshops, workshops, workshops! Don't miss out on these workshops THIS WEEK!!!

Writing tip of the week! The Who’s Who of whose and who’s.... It's more simple than you think!
Who’s is the contraction for “who is.”
Whose is the possessive of “who.”
The reason people get confused is because they think all possessives need an apostrophe, but that isn't always true! Possessive pronouns don’t have apostrophes (mine, ours, yours, his, hers, its, theirs, whose).

So here is an example:
Who’s going to pay for dinner? (Who is going to pay for dinner?)
Whose money is on the table?

Writing tip of the week! Did you know? In all forms of writintg, "all right" is always best as two words. Though very common, "alright" is considered non-standard and should be avoided.

Check back weekly for more writing tips!
