Students! The Rinker College of Business is hosting guest speakers this semester, and one you won’t want to miss is Dan Cathy from Chick-fil-A!

Dan Cathy is the Chairman of the Board of Chick-fil-A and the son of founder S. Truett Cathy. He began working in the business at a young age, officially joining the company in 1970. Dan served as CEO from 2013 to 2021, helping lead Chick-fil-A through major national expansion and growth while staying committed to the company’s core values, including its well-known decision to remain closed on Sundays.

Now serving as Chairman of the Board, Dan continues to guide the long-term vision and culture of the brand, which has become one of the most successful and values-driven franchise systems in the country.

We are so excited to announce that we’re heading to the International Franchise Association Convention! We can’t wait to see you all there.

If you see one of our students, come say hi! For some of them, this is their very first conference, such an exceptional experience for educating the next generation! Our students will especially be at the Prayer Breakfast on February 24th at 7:30 a.m., hosted by FranFaith.

Here is a testimony from Andrew Alfano, Chief Executive Officer of Retro Fitness.

Andrew has generously hosted many of our students, and each experience has been incredibly impactful. We are deeply grateful for leaders like him who invest their time, mentorship, and trust into the next generation.
Opportunities like these allow our students to grow, learn, and make a real impact in the communities around them, and we don’t take that lightly. Thank you, Andrew, for hosting an intern and helping shape future franchise leaders.

We are still actively seeking internship opportunities for our franchising students. Even if you are located in another state, remote internships are welcome and greatly appreciated. Franchise Expo South occurs Jan. 16-17, 2026 at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center south of West Palm Beach. The expo presents an opportunity for students to attend franchise-related seminars and review exhibit booths where there are franchisors, franchisees and franchise development personnel. Come and see the variety of franchise opportunities available. 
The expo producer, MFV Expositions, a member of the Titus Center Advisory Board, extends free registration to Titus Center Students including Entrepreneurship & Franchising majors and students who have elected the Concentration in Franchising.
If you choose to attend the expo either day, Titus Center offers the following:
·      $50 allowance per day per student for food but you must turn in your receipt(s) within 7 days of returning. 
·      Travel (mileage) reimbursement – we prefer students travel together. It’s not required but it’s more economical (and more fun) for students to travel together. Titus Center will reimburse the driver/owner of the vehicle for mileage. To receive reimbursement, you must submit a Google map with your home address as the starting point and the convention center as the destination.
·      Parking for one or both days at the convention center. You must submit a parking receipt within 7 days of returning.  Note: There’s no reimbursement for overnight stay. 
·      Free registration when you use link in bio
To take advantage of this opportunity you must register with Connie Parks, Executive Coordinator, Titus Center. You’ll find her in the Titus Center. You can also email @pba.edu
You may attend the A to Zs of Buying a Franchise at 10:30 am on Friday and/or Saturday. Dr. Hayes teaches the seminar. It’s a fee-required seminar but you will be admitted free – see Dr. Hayes upon arrival.
