Dreyfoos Class of 2023 Communications alumna Kate Wagner recently graduated from the University of Florida a year early and on a full scholarship, earning her degree in Public Relations with a minor in Business!

From film society and student government to speech and debate, Kate made the most of her time at Dreyfoos and credits those experiences with helping prepare her for success in college and beyond.

“I would definitely say that putting myself out there when I was in high school was the biggest thing I did for myself,” Kate shared.

The Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation is thrilled to celebrate Christopher DeLeon, Director of Jazz Studies at Dreyfoos School of the Arts, on receiving this incredible honor!

Through his leadership, mentorship and passion for jazz education, Mr. DeLeon has helped shape an exceptional program where young musicians are challenged to grow, perform and achieve at the highest levels. His dedication to his students and to keeping the art of jazz thriving continues to make an impact throughout our school and community.

“I feel absolutely blessed to have received the support from the Hall Summer Scholarship and SOAFI.”

This summer, Samuel Shear, Dreyfoos Strings Class of 2027, had the opportunity to study violin at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, where he performed in a chamber music group, learned from accomplished faculty, and connected with fellow young musicians.

“Being surrounded by other passionate young musicians inspired me to work harder and helped me to continue pursuing my goals as a violinist,” Samuel mentioned.

Seven Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts students have been named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, an honor earned by less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors! A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts

Head to S. Rosemary Avenue at CityPlace West Palm for an evening of shopping, family-friendly activities, bites, refreshments, live entertainment and more.

🎻 Listen for Dreyfoos! A Dreyfoos String Quartet will perform at the top of each hour near Pura Vida, Shorecrest Gallery and FUKU.

🛍️ Shop and support our students! When visiting participating CityPlace stores and restaurants, be sure to mention DREYFOOS. A percentage of participating sales will be donated back to support Dreyfoos students!

Tomorrow, Thursday, September 10, the community will come together to celebrate outstanding educators and schools at the Educator of the Year Awards, and Dreyfoos has even more to celebrate! 🐆✨

🎷 DSOA Director of Jazz Chris DeLeon is a finalist for Educator of the Year, recognized for his dedication to his students, passion for music education and commitment to excellence.

🏆 Dreyfoos School of the Arts is also a finalist for the Institutional Excellence Award, recognizing the exceptional work taking place across our school community.

Dreyfoos Class of 2016 Dance alumna Ashley Simpson was recently featured in Broad Street Review for her career as a professional dancer with BalletX in Philadelphia!

In the feature, Ashley reflects on her journey from West Palm Beach to the professional stage and credits her time at Dreyfoos as an important part of her training.

“Being in rooms with people better than you makes you better,” Ashley shared about learning alongside other young artists at Dreyfoos.

Since joining BalletX in 2020, Ashley has continued to challenge herself through contemporary ballet, most recently taking on the leading role of the Snake in the company’s revival of The Little Prince.
