From administering oxygen as an EMT on Pikes Peak to assisting in the operating room, Makenzie Driscoll, MSPAS’21, has found her calling as a physician assistant.

Today, Makenzie serves as the first-ever physician assistant in the plastic surgery clinic at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, caring for patients in both the clinic and the OR.

Along the way, DMU helped shape her future in more ways than one. It prepared her for a rewarding career and introduced her to her husband, fellow alum Logan Driscoll, MSPAS’21. 💟

As she weighed becoming a physician assistant or doctor, Makenzie Driscoll, MSPAS’21, was drawn to the PA profession’s flexibility and shorter training.
