The Booster Club has been working to set up an incredible online store of great Norsemen gear and are excited to say it's done and ready to go! Place your orders and pay directly online and pick them up at the school store when they arrive. Order for Christmas gifts now - there is a lot of really great stuff! Please help spread the word.

I have a lot of great ideas/plans to bring back to school from our Youth Apprenticeship meeting today. Hopefully we will have several students earning their Department of Workforce Development Youth Apprenticeship Skill Certificates this year!

Check out the amazing trip our students took this past June to Costa Rica & Nicaragua!

During June of 2017, myself & Tiffany Jothen traveled with 8 Westby students to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. We traveled through several airports to arrive in Central America, where we experienced and traveled through Costa Rica and Nicaragua by bus. This was an adventure based trip filled with lots of activity- hiking volcanoes and down to waterfalls, ziplining through canopies, kayaking then relaxing in hot springs, touring the islands of Lake Nicaragua by boat, and touring the historic city of Granada by horse drawn carriages. We learned about the countries main exports by touring coffee and cocoa plantations, we visited craft markets and memorable cafes and restaurants. Overall, our eyes were opened to a completely different way of life and economic status than we are used to seeing. It was an incredible experience filled with growth, excitement, awe and adventure.

Today is my own first day back to school!

I was especially excited this past week to decorate my room because I had a special banner to share with my students. Over the summer, I was informed that our yearbook program here at Westby Area High School had been recognized by Jostens as a National Yearbook Program of Excellence!!! It sets the bar high for this year's students, but I have no doubt they are up for the challenge. 🏆🏅🏆
