On Saturday, November 14th Dr. Patricia Alvarez McHatton engaged students and faculty in the EdD in Higher Education Leadership program in a presentation entitled, "It’s Just the Beginning: The “I” in Diversity." Dr. Alvarez McHatton is the Vice President of Strategy for BranchED, which is dedicated to working with Minority Serving Institutions and intentionally addressing educational equity for all students. During the presentation, members of the EdD program engaged in an introspective journey on their experiences with diversity, equity, and inclusion; learned about the Intercultural Development Inventory as a tool to support intercultural sensitivity; and explored wicked problems and equitable design principles in education to ensure equitable educational environments.
