Through this collaboration with Blue Ridge, HCPS students will have opportunities to earn college credits while still in high school, reducing both the time and cost required to pursue a degree or credential after graduation. 🛸 Drone Zone: Master the physics of flight, pass your TRUST test, and take your drone home!
🏺 Ceramics Freestyle: Get your hands dirty and turn raw clay into custom art.
🐾 Pre-Vet Tech: Step into the shoes of a veterinary professional and learn what it takes to care for animals.

We've got you - Pipe Welding I: SMAW weekend class this summer, starting June 27!

BRCC currently has scholarship funding to defray the cost of many workforce courses - such as Pipe Welding I: SMAW. Most Virginia residents receive a 2/3 discount on tuition and, for many unemployed individuals or individuals in low paying jobs, courses are free or nearly free!

The 2026–2027 scholarship deadline has been extended to June 15! By completing one application, students are automatically considered for multiple scholarship opportunities. Last year, BRCC awarded more than $530,000 in scholarships!

Exposing Students to Current Tech and Experts From the Industry

Bringing experts from the automotive repair industry into the classroom has been a focus for instructors in the Automotive Repair program at BRCC. “We are grateful to have people in the community come in and talk with students so that they are prepared when they enter the work force,” Jeff Wiseman, Automotive Analysis & Repair Department Chair, explained. “Mike and I are doing our best to make sure the students who leave our program are prepared for the ‘real world’ so they have a better chance at success.”
