End of the year hustle, never-ending activities, a busy and bustling lobby, and finals just around the corner. Even in the rush, our cello chamber ensemble found a moment to pause and create something beautiful in the Armerding lobby.

You may remember when Wheaton College had the privilege of hosting one of the early screenings of The First Hymn Project. We’re excited to share that the film is now being released in theaters nationwide!

Envisioned by Rev. Dr. John Dickson, Jean Kvamme Distinguished Chair of Biblical Evangelism, the documentary brings renewed life to the oldest known Christian hymn—lyrics and music preserved for more than a millennium. The film features Wheaton Conservatory students and faculty, including newly commissioned arrangements led by Dr. John Trotter and performed by the Wheaton College Concert Choir.

With additional contributions from worship leaders Ben Fielding and Chris Tomlin, The First Hymn Project bridges ancient Christian worship with the voice of the modern church. We are grateful for the scholarship, artistry, and faithfulness of our students and are proud to see their work reaching audiences across the country.

This past weekend we had the joy of welcoming back three alumni to perform on the Wheaton College Artist Series.

Alumni Will Liverman'10, Jonathan King'10, and Michelle Skinner'10 returned to Wheaton College for a weekend to perform and invest in current students.

In addition to their Artist Series performance with Conservatory professor Daniel Paul Horn, the artists spent time deeply engaged with students—visiting classes, offering private coaching, leading a joint piano and voice masterclass, and sharing meals with students and faculty.

Michelle Skinner also joined us earlier in the week to present Prepared in Quiet: Routines that Shape Readiness, reflecting on the unseen disciplines that sustain artistic excellence and the role of Scripture, prayer, and discernment in faithful professional life.

Their presence was a gift to our community, reminding us that formation happens both onstage and far beyond it.

📸 A few moments from their time on campus.

This year’s Christmas Festival—All Ye Faithful—brought together more than 380 student performers, faculty, and staff. With over 6,000 attendees, many shared that the program was artistically stirring and a powerful worship experience. In many ways, it reflects the combination of excellence and devotion that have defined music at Wheaton College for decades.

To extend that joy, we’ve created a full YouTube special of the 2025 Christmas Festival. We hope it brings beauty, reflection, and encouragement to your home this season. Please feel free to share it with family, friends, or fellow alumni.
