Warhawks make their dreams come true! Last semester, Andrew Kranzusch gave a Japanese presentation on world-renowned marimbist Keiko Abe (安倍圭子先生)during his Japanese 202 class. This semester, while studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai University, he traveled to Fukui Prefecture to watch his musical inspiration perform live. Abe Sensei graciously made time to chat with Andrew leaving him a bit starstruck. He said it was one of the greatest experiences of his life. 夢が叶って本当に良かったですね。安倍先生、アンドリューさんと親身にお話いただき、心より感謝申し上げます。🩷

Japanese majors, Jacob Jennissen and Alyssa Sabroff, are making the most of their year abroad in Japan by visiting famous landmarks in the region. (Left) Jacob-san visited Todaiji Temple (東大寺) in Nara which was constructed in 752 and houses one of Japan's largest bronze Buddha statues. (Right) Alyssa-san took a day trip to Himeji city to explore Japan's largest and most visited castle: Himeji Castle (姫路城). While the current structure dates back to the early 1600s, the location was first fortified in 1333. 留学は素晴らしい経験ですね!
