✨ What is Big/Little? ✨

One of the most special traditions in sorority life is the Big/Little experience! 💗A Big is an initiated member who serves as a mentor, role model, and lifelong friend to a new member, known as a Little. From offering advice and support to celebrating milestones together, this relationship is built on encouragement, connection, and sisterhood.

While every Big/Little relationship looks a little different, they all share one thing in common: creating meaningful friendships that last far beyond college.

Big/Little isn’t just about matching with someone, it’s about finding someone who will cheer you on, help you grow, and remind you that you always have a sister by your side. 🫶

“I chose to join a sorority because coming to WSU, I wanted to get involved and get to know more people on campus. The first time I met some of the girls in the chapter was last year at a sisterhood event. All the girls at the event talked with me and treated me like I was meant to be there. They were so kind and truly wanted to get to know me for who I am. I went home telling my mom that Gamma Phi is where I want to be. I felt like I could be myself throughout the whole process. All the sisters in Gamma Phi made sure I was always included and would always go out of their way to invite me to other greek life events on campus. Gamma Phi has given me relationships and friends that I never would have had if I did not chose GPHI. Ive gotten to know so many amazing women and have been given many opportunities to grow and contribute to the chapter.” - Emily C.

“I never considered joining a sorority. It’s always been very difficult for me to make friends because I’m outgoing and not many people like that. I got a message from GPHI on instagram asking if I wanted to COB. I accepted because I took this as an opportunity to possibly find my college friends. The second I walked into the house I felt so warm and welcomed. I’ve made lasting friendships here already in the short period of time I’ve been in GPHI. I love it and I wouldn’t change my decision on joining a sorority.“ - Mercedes S.
