Hello everyone! We wanted to update you all about this year!

This year for competition, sponsored by Raytheon and held in Tucson, AZ, we had to design a plane to fit the Aircraft Carrier Operations theme. The plane had to have folding wings to roll through a 3 foot wide box, had to have a spinning "radome" on top, had to drop foam rockets, and had to take off from a 10 foot long ramp.

Our initial design proposal placed 7th out of the 113 that qualified for competition. Our design report submitted later in the process placed 23rd out of 104 teams. At competition, we placed 37th out of the 77 teams that participated.

We couldn't have had the successful year we had without the spectacular hard work of everyone involved with designing, building, and flying our plane, "An Erie Feeling!"

We can’t thank the Case Alumni Association enough for all of their support of our team. We truly couldn’t do it with out them!

We have a few updates for everyone:
1. As you may know, our club is undergoing a name change. We are now going to be officially called the "Case Aeronautics Team" moving forward. This change is meant to better align with what our club is and does. But we are still going to be doing the Design, Build, Fly competition, and we are still the AIAA Student chapter.

2. We have a New Member Barbecue this Monday from 12pm to 2pm. We will hold the event at the pavilion outside Clarke Tower. (See the attached picture).

We attended competition and placed 34th out of 91 teams! 12 of our club members were able to attend competition, and our trip was a success.

Today we completed our final systems checks. Our plane is now ready for competition later this week. Thank you to all of our team members who put in countless hours to design and build this plane. Your hard work has finally paid off.
